Some of you might know that Kitty and I have been looking for a new church together -- a church that is Biblocentric, Christ-following, and Christ-exalting -- a place where we can start a family, receive Godly counsel, and bless other brothers and sisters in Christ also. Enter Harvest Bible Chapel (York Region)! You can call me a nerd if you want, but reading through their doctrine and statements of faith just got me so excited inside! I love how God's word is proclaimed with authority and without compromise, how Christ is exalted as supreme and all-sufficient, how prayers are prayed in faith, and how people are not afraid to share the name of Jesus. The focus is not on the church building, nor even on the people that make "things" happen, but on Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Visit http://www.chrislukphotography.blogspot.com for more!

You can find out more about Solar Crash at http://event.solarcrash.com. "Love Comes Down" was about "attempting to redeem valentines while raging against the commercialization of love." On Sunday, February 15th, Glendon, Helen, Velsie, Kitty, and I all hopped into the G-Car and headed downtown to the El Mocambo Night Club. The G-Bus was busy running other errands, so the G-Car had to do. It was great to listen to some great musical acts, meet some new people, and help out "Sketch" charity -- you can learn more about them at http://www.sketch.ca. By the way, isn't Velsie Mak the coolest? Nikon D700 with Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon 50mm f/1.4, Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR, and Glendon's Nikon 20mm f/2.8, Normal Large JPG.

I was so happy to have made the "invited" list for this wedding! Jonathan is an incredible man of God who's life really shines His light, His love, and His selflessness. Cheryl is a very lucky woman to have him as her husband! It was such a love-filled, joy-filled, tear-filled wedding ceremony :) I think this is probably the first wedding that I've been to where I personally know both the bride and groom, so attending this was especially lovely :) Kitty had my camera gear during the ceremony since I was given the privilege of leading musical worship that day and she caught some great shots! I really like the one Kitty took of "The First Kiss" and "The Signing" -- good job! :D At the reception, during their "First Dance", Jon and Cheryl sang their song to each other while they danced with everyone watching! Tres cute! Kitty loved the chocolate fountain that night and raved about it for a good, solid month. It was great to see some old friends again -- too bad there wasn't enough time to catch up with them all! God bless, Jon and Cheryl :) Theresa and Adrienne did an amazing job overseeing the wedding for the day too! Glendon's birthday is today, September 18! Exciting! This week is a busy week for him, so a couple of us wanted to throw a surprise for him on one of his lesser busy days. Velsie and Helen did a great job and put lots of hard work into planning his surprise! In fact, Velsie didn't even get to make it! Poor girl.
If this grand surprise was going to work, Silvana would have to be in on it too! Every time Helen would get off the phone with her, she would say, "She's sooooooo niiiiiiiiiice!" with a big smile. Once you meet her, you'll say what Helen says too :) Silvana is a professional schemer! Glendon had no idea we would be surprising him at the studio!

The family and I returned recently from a trip to North Bay, Ontario, roughly 4 hours north of Toronto. We enjoyed two sunsets along different parts of the waterfront of Lake Nipissing, a couple carousel (merry-go-round) rides, a boat ride around some islands, playgrounds with swings, a few waterfalls, and more. A relaxing time just enjoying small-town life and taking in the beauty of God's creation around us.

Audio Excellence's Make-A-Wish Foundation Ferrari Fundraiser 2008 - August 24, 2008. My favourite car in the whole event was the Ferrari F430 Spyder. To help the fundraiser, the Ferrari owners give you an exhilarating ride around the block; the $30 you pay goes towards charity. The owner of this F430 was very generous! I think he gave about 20 rides today! He pretty much drove non-stop! Gorgeous car. It sounds as good as it looks. I had a wonderful time meeting old friends again including the owner of Audio Excellence, Adrian Low. John Chaulk Jr. is another good old friend and we caught up with some photography. Check out www.audioexcellence.ca for some of the most amazing high-end audio/video equipment in the city (two-channel stereo, home theater, home automation, etc.). My cousin, Jeffrey, was very selfless and kind and drove me all the way out to Carlsbad to visit Buffalo Bros. Guitars where I had the chance of a life-time to play the best-sounding guitar I have ever laid my hands on, a Goodall RCJC: www.buffalobrosguitars.com/images26000-26999/ngb26300-goo.... Afterwards, Jeffrey, his wife, Lyndsay, their son, Ethan (their daughter Ella was with her grandparents that weekend), and I headed to the beach and had a fun time photographing the family. Ethan was unstoppable and usually struck up a cute pose when given the chance. Lyndsay is an aspiring photographer herself -- if you're in the California area and are looking for someone to capture photographs of your children (and the rest of your family), you can find her at mama2ethan.multiply.com. She's a lot of fun to work with and has two children of her own! As you can see, Ethan is a growing, energetic, little boy who loves Lightning McQueen from Disney Pixar's Cars (more on that later)! He has the most adorable and unforgettable way of saying "Uncle Chris" I have ever heard. I now know how Silvana of Impulse Photography feels when she says, "I wanted to "scrunch" them up in a little ball and put them in my pocket"! Nikon D80 with 18-135mm Normal Large JPG -- a minimalist set-up to try and prove to myself that it's the photographer, not the camera that matters. P.S. Thanks goes to Erik Clausen's influence: why not place your watermark somewhere that helps aid the photographs' composition?

Victor and Sophia's wedding is coming up next month! The weather today was very foggy and the visibility was very low. In fact, Victor had to keep cleaning his glasses every few minutes and Sophie's hair became dripping wet from all the humidity. Nevertheless, Victor and Sophie were good sports and braved through the weather. Thanks goes to Ryan Lau Photography for allowing me to second-shoot. A collection of photographs of friends and family taken on Monday, June 16th at Ryerson University celebrating Kitty's convocation. The Social Work group of students was one of the rowdiest and energetic I had ever experienced at a convocation ceremony. They cheered for forever and very loudly too! It's always fun to see so much energy. We had lunch at The Pickle Barrel before the ceremony started. Sam and I sneaked into the theatre without tickets and got first row seats too! When we got outside, it was perfect weather, but then it started to rain for a bit, so you'll see a few frozen raindrops in some photographs. After that, the sun came out again and it was perfect lighting for some great photographs! Afterwards, a few of us went back to Kitty's place for a hot pot dinner extravaganza. Cindy dropped by to give Kitty her present and also to wish Lili a happy farewell :) It was all very cute. Congratulations, Kitty :D Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, 70-200mm VR f/2.8, and SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG.

1) A trip to Atlantis at Ontario Place for some practice with Glendon and Helen :) Thanks goes to Helen for being such a great sport. Also, you guys will get a glimpse at Kitty's sad face that makes me die a little inside every time she uses it on me -- I think you will see why. Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG and with Glendon's new 50mm f/1.4 (a.k.a. Helen) and SB-600 Speedlight.
2) The family went on the "annual weekend of gluttony" trip from June 27th to 29th at BlueMountain Resort near Collingwood, ON. Oddly enough, it wasn't as gluttonous as it has been in previous years; which could be a good thing! I learned that you're supposed to have 5 servings of vegetables each and every day ... have you gotten 5 yet? Some old family friends were there that weekend too! Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG.
3) Redeemer Chinese Evangelical Free Church's (RCEFC) Summer Conference was held at Redeemer University College at Ancaster, ON. You will get to know those ... boys ... a little more. Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG. 4) Joyce Chew's convocation celebration. A small group of us gathered together at Starbucks Coffee for a bit of banter where we all got introduced to "Chill-eh", an adorable penguin with quite a bit of style and class! We then proceeded to Terroni for some Italian food. It was dark in there and I didn't want to blind others with flash. Kitty and I had a smoked salmon pizza and assorted bruschetta. Nikon D80 with 18-135mm Normal Large JPG. 5) Some snapshots from The Yorkland School prom night with thanks to Glendon Tang Photography. Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, Glendon's 50mm f/1.4, 70-200mm VR f/2.8, and SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG.

Lili is heading off to Hong Kong for a year, about 20 of us gathered together upstairs at the new Destiny Tea House and Restaurant to send her off with lots of gifts, hugs, and good friends. I will miss Lili's contagious smile. Nikon D80 with 18-135mm, 70-200mm VR f/2.8, and SB-800 Speedlight Normal Large JPG.

Campus Challenge 2008 was held at Tyndale University College and Seminary from May 16th to 19th in Toronto. You can learn more at http://campus-challenge.com/2008/ I had the honour of serving in worship music ministry this year with some legendary lead worshipers as well as drummer extraordinaire, Jeff Pak. You can view the Jeff Pak drum cam at http://www.youtube.com/godafrid Kitty was amazingly supportive all weekend long by supplying aloe vera drinks, citron tea, Halls, instant noodles, water, and hugs! She also grabbed my camera and took lots of great shots this weekend! This year’s Campus Challenge was very different from previous Campus Challenges, but serving on the worship team has always been such a great blessing. University group time was the best :) Another highlight was on the second day of Bible study through the book of Acts lead by Al Anderson of Inver-Varsity Christian Fellowship: he was saying, “Seven times in the passage he writes, you killed Jesus, you killed Jesus, you killed Jesus, seven times! But then He rose from the dead into life by the power of the Holy Spirit, He’s seated at the right hand of God above, and He has sent His Holy Spirit down to make lots of little Jesus’ on the earth. You killed Him, you killed Him, you killed Him, He came back to life, and now He’s immortal! Good job!” I just grinned really big and laughed: our risen Lord Jesus Christ is alive and well!
